01 · Scope of work

What's in this project.

Included

  • Full visual redesign of every existing page
  • Responsive, mobile-first layout with sticky tap-to-call
  • 9-page site: Home, About Eli, Boarding, Grooming, Day Play, Meet Our Staff, Gallery, Blog, Contact
  • Custom content editor so you can update hours, services, blog posts, gallery photos, and reviews yourself — no developer needed
  • On-page SEO basics: titles, descriptions, social previews, semantic HTML
  • Photo curation and optimization from your existing library
  • Google Reviews section + map / directions block
  • Accessibility pass (WCAG 2.1 AA targets)

Not included (yet)

  • Online booking / calendar integration (see questions)
  • Online payments or e-commerce
  • New photography or copywriting from scratch
  • Paid ads / Google Ads management
  • Domain or email hosting changes

02 · Assessment of the current site

What's working — and what isn't.

A frank look at elisfriends.org as it stands today, evaluated against the goals of a local service business: get found, build trust, drive a phone call.

Strengths

  • Strong, recognizable logo and red brand color
  • Authentic photos of real dogs and the facility
  • Local trust signals: Chamber, Yelp, Yellow Pages badges
  • Real, glowing customer reviews on Google
  • Clear list of services with good descriptions
  • Phone number is front-and-center on mobile with a tap-to-call button — the most important thing for a local service site

Opportunities

  • Dated design — looks like a stock template, feels less trustworthy than your actual business
  • Mobile layout is rough: an aggressive "Let's Talk!" popup covers the page on load, the hero text is cut off mid-word, and the header sits behind a dark overlay
  • Photos render dim and washed out behind dark overlays — the dogs (your best asset) get lost
  • Calls-to-action are weak; no clear next step on most pages
  • Reviews live on a separate platform — visitors don't see the social proof on-site
  • SEO basics (titles, meta, headings) are inconsistent
  • Blog hasn't been updated since 2020 — reduces fresh-content SEO value and looks abandoned

03 · What I'm proposing

The new Eli's Friends.

A site that feels like the hand-painted storefront sign for a beloved local business — confident, warm, and unmistakable. Built modern under the hood so it loads fast, ranks well, and is easy to update.

Distinctive design

Bold condensed typography echoing the logo, warm cream + brand red palette, photo-led storytelling, subtle motion. Nothing that looks like every other site.

Built to convert

Persistent tap-to-call header on desktop, sticky bottom bar on mobile, prominent "Book a Stay" CTAs on every page.

Local SEO foundation

Per-page titles & descriptions, semantic HTML, social share previews, structured data so Google understands your business.

Reviews on-site

Real Google reviews displayed on the homepage with a "Read all on Google" link, building trust before the click.

Accessible & fast

Accessibility best practices, lazy-loaded images, responsive image sizes — fast on a phone in the parking lot.

You can edit it yourself

A custom content editor is included. Update hours, services, blog posts, gallery photos, and reviews from a simple admin panel — no code, no developer call.

04 · Timeline

How we get there.

  1. Step 1

    Questionnaire

You answer the questions below so I can scope the build.

  2. Step 2

    Quote

    I send a tailored quote and a one-page agreement.

  3. Step 3

    Deposit & build

50% deposit + signed agreement kick off design and build.

  4. Step 4

    Review & launch

You review on phone and desktop, we refine, then point your domain.

05 · Questions for you

Decisions that shape the build.

None of these are required to launch the redesign — but each one would add real value. Pick "yes," "maybe," or "no" for each one below and hit submit at the bottom. Skipping a question is fine.

Q1

Do you want online booking?

Customers could request boarding dates, day play, and grooming appointments directly from the site. Options range from a simple request form to a full calendar that syncs with software like Gingr or Time To Pet.

Q2

Should we add an FAQ page?

A dedicated FAQ (vaccination requirements, what to bring, drop-off windows, cancellation policy) cuts down repeat phone questions.

Q3

Live chat on the site?

Real human chat (you or staff) during business hours, with a contact form fallback after hours.

Q4

An AI assistant to answer common questions?

A friendly chatbot trained on your hours, services, requirements, and pricing — answers visitors 24/7 and hands off to a real phone call when needed.

Q5

Email newsletter signup?

Collect emails for seasonal reminders — holiday boarding deadlines, grooming specials, etc.

Q6

Online deposits or gift cards?

Take a deposit at booking to cut down on no-shows, or sell gift cards online.

06 · Next steps

Where we go from here.

  1. 1Submit your answers above — even partial is fine.
  2. 2I'll use your answers to build a tailored quote and a one-page agreement.
  3. 3Once the agreement is signed and the 50% deposit is in, design and build kick off — and that's when you'll see the first preview.
